Many people don’t remember vinyl, opting for CDs or more commonly now, digital music. Vinyl however could be making a comeback, with more and more people opting for the sweet hiss and crackle of vinyl over other formats. Once the ‘only’ way for music purists to listen to music, in recent years vinyl has become a mostly lost format in a lot of ways, or just a fashion accessory for vintage enthusiasts.

Vintage lovers have helped vinyl to start to make a comeback now, with ever-increasingly popular vintage shops stocking more and more records. Some stars have caught onto the vinyl fad, Lady Gaga and Adele have now made several vinyl releases, sometimes with a download attached.
Record sales have now made a two-decade record high for sales, with a 36% increase just since 2010, to a whopping 3.9 Million sales. Vinyl sales have been steadily growing since 2005, and this doesn’t look set to change now. First appearing in 1948, vinyl really is true music vintage. Maybe the familiar crackles and warm, homely feeling is the appeal which has kept these records alive for so long.
